State media reported that a Mahan Air flight carrying Khamenei's coffin arrived at Shahid Hasheminejad Airport in his home city of Mashhad, located in eastern Iran. The body was transferred from Iraq, where funeral ceremonies had previously taken place in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. The burial procession in Mashhad was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. local time on Thursday.
